Arts Week in Brent

The Arts Week in Brent group was set up following interest from a number of artists at the Emerge conference in November 2005. The group aims to set up the first Arts Week in 2006/7, and are currently in the planning stage.

baR has been going for 23 years and has over a hundred artist members. baR presently runs a rolling exhibition programme in a new purpose-built gallery. Our broader aims are to promote the visual arts through exhibitions, workshops, festivals, and as a resource for artists.

The EFO is a voluntary group of artists and craftspeople living or working in East Finchley; producing a wide range of high quality, original artwork including painting, photography, ceramics, sculpture, jewellery and textiles. The group has been running for two years and is the largest and most successful group of its kind in North London.

This group has been set up to support artists in the difficult transition period between student and practicing professional artist. The group is open to recent graduates of selected institutions in the West London area, but is a pilot project and may be extended to other colleges in the future.

HVAF provides artists in Harrow with opportunities to work together for their common interests.  It maintains a network of support and information, and acts as a forum in which to share skills, experience and knowledge.  It also provides a central voice for artists to communicate with the local Council and the community.

The North London Women Artists Group was set up by artists who met at the Emerge conference in November 2005. NLWAG aims to produce exciting bodies of work and share these with the community. We aim to exhibit and sell our work while being a supportive network where artists can meet, network and discuss relevant issues.

This group has been set up both to apply for a bursary in order to fund meetings between local artists, sculptors and installation artists, and in order to work with the council to find appropriate sites in the boroughs where 'PUBLIC ART' would totally improve and brighten the life of that area for the community in that area.
